.The Kentucky River Longknives is an informal group of friends & family members that enjoys pursuing the 18th century lifestyle known as "Buckskinning". Our primary focus is the history of Harrodstown (Harrodsburg), Kentucky and Mercer County. Harrodsburg, founded in 1774, was the first permanent English colonial settlement west of the Allegheny Mountains. As time and work allow, we volunteer at Old Fort Harrod State Park, as well as trekking and camping.
